Hi there Bulleteers,
Finally took the plunge and traded in my Honda for this ex demo Classic EFI. Only done a few miles so far but looking forward to doing a lot more over the coming months.

REgards,

Dan.

Very nice!  Welcome.

Blue threadlocker will come in handy as you dutifully check fasteners over the next 1,000 miles or so.  Thumpers vibrate...

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling

From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be there in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.

Well not exactly but welcome to our little shin dig here..Its not a Honda anymore....Good luck with the new machine. ;D
Oh Magoo you done it again

Nice ride, you'll love it.

G'day and welcome. You will have to start getting used to people wanting to talk to you about your bike. You might have met (some of) the nicest people on a Honda, but you will meet a lot more of them on your RE.

Hah, that's funny... I just sold my 86 Honda Magna in October to get my 2012 Chrome & Black C5. Don't suppose you live in Austin, TX?

That red with white is a beauty... but I have yet to see an ugly RE.  :)

Dannyboy,
I see you have the pillion seat on your bike, is it a comfortable ride?

Great bike by the way, i'm looking at that one and the new desert storm one

Hi Monty,
one of the reasons I bougth it was because it had the pillion and my daughter wants to go on the back. Just need to buy her a helmet and protective gear so she can come out with me. I'll let you know what she thinks afterwards.

Regards,

Dan.

Not to be interrupting cow here, but I'll offer my view on the pillion seat I put on mine.

I bought it for my fiancee to ride with me. She's 5'6", 125lbs, for frame of reference. For short rides it was no big deal, but anything over 30 minutes and there was a little soreness. Over an hour called for some audible complaining.

I considered getting the Butty Buddy for a while, despite it's name:
http://www.buttybuddy.com/

But I have decided to spend a little lot more and get the Corbin seats with backrest.
http://www.corbin.com/re/

I've seen people complaining that the Corbin seats do not quite fit the classic look, but have not heard anything about comfort. I will probably report later this summer on the comfort aspects of it.

Hope this helps!

I've owned a few Corbins over the years. I always found them very comfortable, but if you're into knee dragging, they're very hard to slide around on due to the concave seat. My wife liked the ones with the backrest.
If they were to do a Gunslinger seat for teh Bullet, I would consider it.

+1.  Loved my last Corbin and so did my wife.  They tend to be firmer than most seats but great for the long haul.  The pillion on the C5 Crobin looks like it will provide good support.  The only down side is you lose the single seat look.

Very nice picture - some of the best moments when you take your kid with you on RE.

If you intend to take her gradually to a bit longer rides, I would recommend a sissy bar, back rest at the rear seat. Since she is young and kids can doze off while sitting on motorcycle (Don't ask me how I know and it does happen), a kid harness is worth having for added security and peace of mind.

Happy riding many more miles.
