I am 62 years old. I have been riding motorcycles since I was seventeen. My favorite of the old bikes has to be a toss up between a 1972 Honda CB 450 (K6) and a '79 Triumph Bonneville T140. I got my 2008 Bullet in 2008 It is one of the very last of the old "Iron Barrel" Bullets. It is a bit cantankerous from time to time, but when it is properly sorted out, It is a true joy to ride on my commute to & from work (fifty miles each way! ). The only way I would ever trade it is if a pristine '72 CB 450 or an immaculate '79 Bonnie were the options.  I'll keep my Bike till death do us part.
1972 Honda CB 450 Rufus, Murdered
1978 Triumph T-140 E, Sadly gone
2008 Royal Enfield Deluxe Iron head, " Old Bill"
1971 Honda CB-100,"Kikuchiyo"-traded
O Day 20 Sailboat "Tempus Fugative"
1992 Mazda Miata "Lady Murisaki"250,00miles!
Too many Toys, what else is retirement for?

Good morning,

I'm 64.  Got my first bike from Sears (Allstate 125) at a cost of $280. That was 51 years ago - still riding.

Just to inch the average age of your survey a tad higher, I'm 78. First bike was a pre world war II Enfield 250. I was in high school and my Dad helped me sort it out and get it running, Cost was $50. and it ran but didn't generate enough juice to keep the battery charged. Cost $12. to fix one of the gears in the timing chest and off I went. I've had several bikes since then and my current bikes area Honda VLX 600 twin and my 2004 bullet 65.I ride the Honda when the bullet has a  belly ache. I like riding the bullet better.

Close to the average at 49.  Bike is a 2003 bullet 500-Velvet Green.  Followed this forum for awhile.  It's been a great help in overcoming the "extra attention" these fun bikes need.  ;)    Like the bullet, this forum is very different from others I have followed.  Truly great, helpful people from forum owner to all the Grand Gearheads and everyone in between.  Looking forward to when I can bring up the average from so many years of Bullet fun.  Wow, what a ramble :-[  Don't worry, I'll get the hang of this

You and I are right in the target zone.

Current average 49.87 years.  91 respondents.

I know that the following stat is totally meaningless, but an impressive number nonetheless.

Combined age of all respondents is 4,538 years.  That's a lot of life experience.

Youngest age 22.

Oldest Age 78.
