Found the new Hitchcocks catalogue in the post box today. Loads of new stuff you never knew you needed - including a carburettor conversion kit for the UCE engine!

"Extensive dyno testing has shown good increases in both torque and BHP to be amongst the benefits."

So who's going to be first.....?  ;)  Close to £500 inc VAT & del. gulp!   :o

The price seems high, not that it's not what it costs.  There are lots of parts in that kit and it looks like they've really done their homework.  Still, one could get a Power Commander and get it mapped for that price.  I like EFI, I'd be more inclined to go that route.

Still, nice to know they are working on this and I'm sure it makes other hot rod mods like big bores and cams easier to approach for most folks.

Yeah, but we need a bigger bore on the injector first!

I like EFI too, and I'm a lot less inclined towards "messing about" than I used to be, and much more inclined to just get on it and ride it. But for them that are into it, and can afford it.... lotsa fun methinks   :)

It gives us a real option to build a raceable dirttrack bike, for amateur racing anyway. Thats not going to happen with the tiny throttle body.

I looked at the package from Hitchcock's and really like the look of it. However most of my fun rides include anything from sea level to 8000 feet and the carb just doesn't do the job that injection will do. The injector will keep up that good mileage, too. If I were to build a "Harris" Scrambler, though, then I could see it.

I have to agree with the majority on this one. I very much like the idea of them doing this for those that like to get that deep into it. But, injectors are just to nice in the way the work, and let things start, and increase mileage. I would need to see more proof to believe a carburetor will increase mpg.

Fuel injection is certainly the way to go for everyday use. It would be hard to imagine a carb increasing mileage on these, that's one of the big advantages of fuel injection.
