The new bench seat for the C5 is done!
Follow this link , click on the teal C5 and you can see the 3 pictures. One with passenger backrest, 1 with the new mount for leather bags, and one of the seat close-up.

Thanks! The finished seat looks really nice, outstanding indeed, but the donut or toilet seat shaped backrest looks totally out of place on this great looking product.

You can usually order different style backrests, so you could get the non-donut model.

The seat looks really nice and comfy front and back.  I like how subtle the bag mounts are. It really does change the look of the bike though.  That's the only down side.   Then again, any dual seat is going to do that.

It does look nice and clean in the shot without the backrest, and I agree with your comment about the change in the look of the bike with any dual seat. I wonder how it would look with a "traditional" RE steel curved handle at the back?

The backrest shown is one of 3 or 4 you can choose IF you even need one. They are all shapes, hole and no hole.
If you go to Corbin, they can also do slight shape modifications on the seat if needed.
Pricing to be released soon.

The RE seat is now on Corbin's website with pricing.

389.00 for the seat including the soft saddlebag mounts.

Back rest and the fiberglass backrest stash box is an extra cost item.

Thanks to Parminder Singh for the loan of his bike for development. If you have a G5 with stock seat, you can get a free Corbin seat by loaning Corbin your bike for a few weeks.

Not my cup o'tea. Seat or backrest. I considered loaning my bike for the G5 seat, as i live in the bay area. Though im sure the quality is second to none, I cant warm up to this. my 2cents.

Its all personal tastes. I prefer the C5 over the G5 myself.

The seat Corbin made is a bit chunky in the rear for me. I would have it shaped lower to have it flow with the fender. Those of us lucky enough to be close to Corbin can take the bike there and they will shape the seat to suit you for no additional charge.

You can usually request that when you order it too.  They'll do many mods from original at the request of the customer.  I think they also do one 'free' reshape, you just pay shipping but they'll modify it once.  Check the site or call the shop to be sure but this was their policy last time I ordered.

As previously mentioned, the G5 seat they will be building is the Gunfighter "cafe" style humped seat such as they make for early Norton, Triumph, BMW . There have been no requests for a Corbin bench type seat such as the C5 build.

I have to agree with the "not my cup of tea" crowed . I know it is comfy and if you want to ride two up fairly often, it would be miles ahead of what comes with the bike. It just doesn't fit THIS bike in personality. As always my opinion is just that, and worth every penny of what you paid to hear it.
