Were anyone else's license plate holes on the bike too wide for the plate's holes? ???

How the heck am I supposed to make that work?  Drill two new holes?  I have my plate hanging vertically from one bolt right now like a moron so I don't get pulled over.

The license plate holes were too wide on my bike too.

I made a template out of wood, transferred the existing holes from the tag holder to the wood template, then transferred the narrower holes from the license plate to the wood template (be sure the holes are in line and centered) put dowel pins in the wide holes and used the template to drill thru the inside holes I had transferred from the license plate.

Hope this makes sense.

Good luck

I use the license plate to mark the mount and drill it. I have to do this in some manner on most of  the bikes we sell.

Thanks everyone...I guess I have to do what I didn't want to do!

By the way, I can't drill new holes in the plate because the holes in the bike are wider than the plate itself.

Well you could get or make a plate holder.

But probably too much hassle for minimal benefit.

Lucky Yankees! Look what kind of griddle I have to carry around in Germany - no problems to find room for holes though   ::)

It´s an official deed and property of the state. The weight of it´s pure importance acts like an anchor  ;D

Nice to know the State is loaning something of such high importance to a lowly Bullet Pilot.

Alas, loaning fee is 36,80€/year. Minus, of course, the gasoline saving at tailwinds.

As part of our Kyoto climate change commitment we limit the number of letters on licence plates here in Australia ...
