Has anyone installed the K & N performance Air Filter?

If so,  what are your opinions?

Don't know why I am looking for increased performance.  I am happy with what I have with the EFI muffler, but for $50.00, it's almost irresistable, if it works.

I have one. It works fine and I don't have to worry about buying any more filters.

I can hear it sucking air more. With that and the EFI muffler it seems to be a bit faster than the stock setup. I had a little roll on match with a friend and I beat him, but he weighs 50 pounds more than me, so it's somewhat inconclusive. I don't think it's really that much of a difference, but it sure sounds better.

I wash mine with a spray bottle of industrial cleaner, let soak for awhile then rinse with cold water in the same direction as the air flow. Let thoroughly dry , re-spray with only K&N filter oil . Ive used this method on 6 motorcycles and 4 cars through the years and it works everytime. In my opinion there is nothing better then a K&N filter.

K$N also has their own spray-on cleaner. It's next to the K&N oil in the auto parts stores.

Wouldn't it be better the other way? Any big lumps will be forced in further, you want to flush them out, Shirley?

Your probably right Big Cheese. Ive been cleaning them for years this way and I believe the cleaning instructions might have recommended following the air flow . I guess im a creature of habit. Your comment makes alot of sense though.

Typically, the procedure for cleaning industrial filters is a backwash process.

The Big Cheese is correct here.
