May be a lot for one post but some things I'm thinking about

Any one  add a light bar to thier bullet?

I think the crash bars look bulky on the bike so i was thingk about some simple pegs or forward controls.

Didn't add a light but long broken legs require highway pegs.
A friend had one of the old twisted universal highway pegs in his junk box.
A few little mods and little rust removal got me,

There are a few more pics of them and the mounting in the Photo Gallery / Modifications folder.
One can not have enough places to move your feet around on long trips.

You've convinced me. At 6'2 and planning an 1800 mile trip this summer on my 2000 RE, I'd better add some more pegs.

Re the crash bars, I agree they look bulky, but they go great with the military bullet... which is wot I got.

A must for a trip like that.
Took a trip like that last year and am planning on another this year.
Another must is a gel-pad, a bead-pad and a sheepskin pad for your seat.
Change em out every 100 miles or so and use in combinations with each other.
Your butt will appreciate it in the long run, especially that last 100 miles!
You can get the bead-pad and the sheepskin pad at Walmart cheap and trim it to fit.
A throttle lock helps the numb hand too.

I assume (never have been there but seen some film footage!) that the US highways can be long affairs sat in top gear. In the UK that hardly happens as gear changing much more often so 'Highway pegs' would just look like bling.  ;D
Good idea though. A set of folding ones would be a great idea........................!

Aside from gas stops, there are places where you can ride a whole day and never shift.

CJ's right...

And I think most of those places lie between Tucson and Seattle, which is my trip route this summer...

I agree.  I think alternate foot and butt positions are a necessity when riding on the long American roads.

I like th looks of this seat for touring too.  It should go well with the forward pegs.

Well, this Sept. box your bike up and ship it to my house. You fly into Detroit Metro and I'll pick ya up and we'll get up at 2:30 AM (to miss the traffic) and take a ride out to Mo. for the REunion. A bit more than 800 miles in a day and a half.
You might even forget how to shift by the time we get there!
At second thought the Ozarks will keep you in sync with the shifter.

Those look pretty good.  Where are they from?  IMO, the mounts are gonna look a bit cobbled.  Something that matched up with the existing engine mounts would look nicer.  But that said, function is generally more important than form.

I have a set of sportster pegs(folding) mounted to the crash bar on my military via 3 piece clamps. One of the best decisions i have made
