This is the bolt and screw that moves the end of the butterfly valve up and down a bit where the cable connects to it right? I've got all sunday to tinker with it, but do you think it will help the situation? You're a font of wisdom Scotty!

This is just a sensor, not anything that moves or moves somethign else.  There is a small plastic thing with two wires coming out of it on the end of the butterfly pivot axle, black IIRC.  There is screw holding that in place so it doesn't rotate.  That's the screw you want.

Do not mess with anything that would make the butterfly move.  This ain't a carb and that ain't the idle speed screw.  The resting butterfly angle is set at the factory and I don't know how to put that back if you move it.

Ok, that's step one. Next step, do you think adjusting this will help the lurching and jerking at low throttle?

No, I don't think it will help.  They tend to lurch at low speeds when they are lean.  The factory spec is 0.6V +- 0.2V.  You're already on the rich side and about where it should run just fine stock.

Do you have stock air cleaner and exhaust?  If so you're probably not running lean.

Are you still running the stock Bosch plug?  You may want to switch to an NGK BPR6ES or BPR7ES.

  Like Scotty said  DO NOT !! touch that throttle stop screw !  You WILL regret it if you do.  If you have a TPS reading of .67 with key on I doubt it's causing any surging, while your under way.   .67 is on the rich side of things to begin with. Playing with the throttle stop WILL cause surging. If you have.....there may be your problem.   Surging and bucking can come from a lot of different things, I would NOT go right to the TPS adjustment. How's your plug and wire?...  How is your ground strap at the battery ?.....  Does your mil light stay on?..... any trouble codes when you ground the ECU test wire?..... How is your fuel, old any water in it?.... Etc.

Air filter is stock but I have the hitchcocks EFI classic silencer which is pretty much an empty tube. I changed out the BOSCH plug and right now I have a NGK BPR 5 ES running.

I haven't adjusted anything yet. No cause for alarm fellas. Wire is secure, old BOSCH was charcoaled, not sure what the one in now looks like. No mil light, and old fuel or fresh this has been a problem from day 1.

I've seen them run just fine with an EFI exhaust, no TPS tuning. 

Why are you running a 5 plug?  Most people are running a 6 or 7.  5 is hotter.

You might also look for an intake leak.  With the engine running spray carb cleaner any place there might be a leak.  If the engine speed goes up, you've got a leak there.  Careful of the paint, carb cleaner is not nice to it.

I put in the 5 because it's about 35-40 oF when I start out in the mornings. I'll grab a 6 in the morning and see how that goes.

   You can also  LOOK at your throttle stop screw. There should be yellow paint at the lock nut. See if the paint is still intact, and if the nut is loose and may have moved on you.

The yellow paint is totally intact. What to you guys think about ScooterBob's advice to in the earlier part of the thread?

You can go anywhere in the range, 0.6 +- 0.2 = 0.4 to 0.8.  Though I don't think anyone has gotten any benefit from anything over 0.72V if memory serves.  You can try it but I don't think it's your problem.  But I've been wrong before ;)

I'll change the plug first, give that a go. But otherwise 0.72 it is. Between the original post and a friend that had the same problem on his FZ1 I think adjusting the TPS is worth a shot.
