I'm replacing the kick pawl and need a decent diagram, mainly for the washers that go back on the kick start / neutral finder as I messed them up last time and aim to fix it this time around.

Can anyone help?

I don't know which RE you have but here's a link to Hitchcock's site.

Once there, put your mouse cursor on the second button (Parts Book Online)

Select "500cc Indian Bullets" if you have a 4 speed transmission.
Select the one that best matches what you have.

If I have mis-guided you I'm sure someone will jump in and tell us. :)

If you do not have a Snidal's Workshop Manual, get one.   ;) There is a whole section on gearboxs.

I have Peter's manual but the diagrams are just taken from other manuals ... and are rubbish when it comes to the little parts.

Right here goes the Pawl replacement. :)
