To make my G5 motorcycle more visible from the front and from either side of the front, I have installed Accent Light Modules on both sides of headlight. These are LED type and do not strain battery. They are small but pretty effective in darkness and at night as 5 light points are seen at the front. They do not to throw light on road but make bike visible.

Kauai1800 has asked me "Do you like them ?"  I thought I give the response here in this thread.

The short answer is Yes, I like them as compared to no light at all. They are easy to mount, nicely shaped that fits RE, consume very little electricity so do not deplete battery.

I have seen some new cars with strips of white light, under the headlight, where foglights usually are.  But I think white light is not as visible in sunlight because it is indistinguishable from the white day light.

Amber color is easier to see as it offers some contrast to white sunlight. So I would prefer an amber color LED module / pod, which will be better in light and dark. On the other hand mounting amber module right next to turn signal, which is also amber, may make it more difficult for onlooker to distinguish whether turn signal is on or not. So they would be better mounted onto leg guard, some distance away from turn signals.

The second aspect is the size. My pod has 6 LEDs. I would prefer a 12 to 18 LED module, a slightly bigger version if something in that size is available like a round 2"  pod. Superbrightleds had a smaller amber 4 LED pod but not 6 LED in my size / design.

In short, an amber with few more LEDs would be ideal for the job, and a white with 6 LEDs is next best. One can put on these 6 LED pods to start with, and if they find better ones later on they can be easily replaced or even added on to them because all electric wires are in place.

I noticed that you attached the new accent lights to the headlight terminals.

I believe this would cause them to only light when that particular beam was turned on.

I noticed when I was in the nacelle  (at my age I refuse to get voluntarily into a casket regardless of its spelling)  that there is a unconnected gray wire connector that originally was used with the Indian headlights parking light?  If this is true, it should be powered whenever the parking or head lights are turned on.

Have you considered using this power source instead of the headlight terminal?

You are right that the LEDs are on when the headlight low beam is on, which is all the time - day or night - as we are supposed to keep it on when on the road.

I had completely forgotten about the unconnected gray wire (though I had mentioned about it in one of my threads - I may be getting Alzheimer   ). I really don't know what that wire does. It is a good idea to test that wire and see which switch controls its power supply if any.

If the grey wire is 'live' when low beam is on AND when parking switch is on, that will be really nice because then one can turn off headlight and leave it at parking to keep these LEDs lit.  

My bike's rear tail light red LED strips are like that - they come on at both switch positions - at parking and at low beam.

 I'm replacing all the lights in my home with these awesome new generation LED bulbs. I got one that's a single LED that makes a full 125W equivalent of light using 23 watts! Its amazingly bright!

I'm sure all lighting will be by LED someday soon.
