I don't think it matters to the bearings but turning the outer nut against the inner nut and the piece it threads on to could maul them over time.  Probably nothing to worry about but the other way around it's really nothing to worry about.

The only part of a wheel bearing that's under stress from tightening the axle is the inner race.  It gets compressed but it's designed for that.

Everything checked out ok but im puzzled about how putting the axle in the other way would make a difference except maybe tightening the axle nut could tighten the brake nut as it turned.

If the axle nut turns the Hub nut, the hub nut isn't tight enough. The hub nut requires more torque than the axle nut.

My UK G5 doesn't have the brake wear indicator. I think it's US specific.

We got them in Oz as well
