Mike, that shot of the Valkyrie looks like some places I've seen around the Panamints.
Bare
that was taken just North of Silverton, Co on RT.550, also known
as "The Million Dollar Highway".

Baird - We still need to get together for a ride.  Now that I have the Beemer I feel a little safer traveling out your way.  Buena Vista is exactly halfway between us.   ???

What's that Air Filter in your photo?  Looks cool, is it home made?

Man, Bare, that thing is clean!

It'd Better Be!  It's only like 3 months old!  LOL  ;)

True, but that's like 3 years to the rest of us!  Well, to me anyway... ;)

If the truth be known, the picture as taken after I'd had it about 3 days! But it still looks pretty good after 4000 miles!

Thanks!
I just ordered a Canister from Ace, so I won't need it, but thought it looked good.

Took the Goose up to the Lookout on Ortega highway with the guys and gals from Newport Italian. Twas a fun ride for the most part except where cages were holding up the show! Too many people on that road on weekends! It was about 100 degrees up there, but lunch and conversation were good so it was an entertaining afternoon!

Rode to the Mt Evans summit today, and got snowed on when I got to the top.  It was 87F in Denver when I set out at 11am.  It was a really good time.  On the way back down, I rode with a father and son on a pair of new Yamaha 250 supermotos.  We were getting pelted with sleet and snow on the way down from the summit, but we still rode aggressively and had a blast.

And FYI, Mt Evans is the Highest paved rode in the United States.  So Bare, you cannot POSSIBLY 1 up me on this one.  It's physically impossible!!!    ;)

I almost wrote off the Mana as a straight-line-only ride bike.....until I fixed my rookie moment: Put some air in the tires, and, boy can it lean. It has a nice flat patch in the middle of the rear tire, so new rear tire is in order.

I will agree, that downhill run from Mt Evans summit down to Summit Lake and then on down to Echo Lake is a thrill.  Its what engine braking is all about for control.  Don't want to overuse your brakes and then find out you have none for the critical areas.  Had to stop outside of the park gate at the restaurant and gift shop for the " I rode Mt Evans" shirt commemorating the ride.

Yamaha WR250X supermotos.  Great bikes.  Wheelie machines.  A little pricey but they have premium parts throughout.  Supermotos are good fun if you get a chance to hooligan around on one. Nothing better for urban assaults.  RIP to my DRZ400SM.

Great pic Scottie.
