Looks incredible Sam.  Amazing work.

Is that a spot light up front? Or a light that shines only on the ground to reduce the changes of being seen from afar?

Thanks for the compliments,all....This project was considerably different from the usual 'resto',because of the information research in addition to the quest for the correct parts. To make a long story short, this Husky IS NOT the genuine article;it is a 'composite replica' of the various Husqvarna military models produced from 1964 thru 1981. The 'composite replica' term means that this bike has many of the genuine military parts and features common to the MC256-258 series produced for various armies besides Sweden. The genuine mil-Huskys were all 250cc,and featured an auto trans mission for the use of skis.
I was fortunate in locating two great individuals, one in Finland, the other,Sweden, that were my source for both information and NOS pieces correct for the project.....

Boggy, the "marching lamp"(or blackout light) is merely for vehicle recognition when following another in convoy. The design of the lamp, the design of the small lens, will assist the rider/driver in maintaining a specific distance from the next vehicle, based upon what that lamp appears to be-i.e., one single source of light or two sources("dots"). The application/purpose is universal, regardless of the nation. I've attached a better view of the lamps for you
.Enjoy this :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_wVogooks4

I am amazed by the fact that 40+ years later,NOS mil. parts for these machines are still readily available and reasonably priced(obviously NOT within the borders of the USA,lol).I have another very similar project, same theme, for a 1965 Jawa 350.
Example:  http://databikes.com/imgs/a/b/m/i/l/jawa__250579_257a_six_days_1971_1_lgw.jpg

 Again,all of the NOS Mil-parts are available.....amazing.

I went down to Virginia on Sunday and picked up my new summer ride. 17 hours round trip. Left at 4 am from Ohio and got home at around 9 Sunday night. I think it was well worth the trip  :D

Superhawks are super sweet!  Very fun bikes as long as you have enough road to open it up on.   ;)

That is a fine bike...Good luck with it...I tightened up about 10 spokes on the rear tire of the yamaha and took it for a ride...I currently have the rear bags off and want to repair the one buckle with a bit of stitching material.. Hate to loose it especially if a quick fix can prevent it..

Yes you do.  I was looking at some online this week.  One of my favorites.  Please get to fixing it up - I want to buy it from you one day.
