The muffler looks huge, It must be the camera's angle. Or is it?

No, the muffler is huge (as in looooong) and it looks just like the one on the Electra X.

pictures found at::http://beaumont.kijiji.com/c-Cars-vehicles-Motorcycles-bikes-2008-Royal-Enfield-Classic-Bullet-500ES-Like-BSA-Victor-Beauty-W0QQAdIdZ39993509 :o Looks alot better than I had imagined, though the primary cover reminds me of a pos 60's XLCH...Personally I think the "UCE" lookslike a suzuki ls650 savage engine. :-\..

I thought the UCE looked a lot like the unit-construction RE 250 used in the continental.

Boy the head looks a little on the big side maybe??  Must be because they painted the barrel, which looks a little on the short side maybe??  Its cool though glad to see it in a classic frame.

I am keeping my Iron Beast...

abe out...   8)

Different strokes for different folks!   ;D

Too bad the AVL was short-lived but hopefully the UCE will be a success.

The american AVL models are way more beautiful then the european models!
They've kept the looks of the Classic models. The one we have in Portugal and Spain look a bit strange. They've mixed classic and modern parts  :-\
Today I've learned that for 2008 we will only have AVL's with EFI. No more Classics  :-[
The prices will go up, around 1000€.

Damn the Euro 3 regulations!  >:(

The AVL motor always reminded me of the RE 500 Fury with the Big Head motor of the early 60's.     Hutch

Today I've discovered the new AVL engine with EFI.
The top engine is more beautiful that the "old" AVL. But the bottom engine lost a lost of it's carisma and beauty.
Even so, they've managed to keep the kickstart...
But the side covers... Man, they're so f...g ugly!  :'( >:(

Seriously R.E.I. please spend the extra couple of cents and replace the speedo face and needle with something a bit more in-keeping with the bike's style and not just using the one from the designer's son's toy bike!!!  It really irks me when manufacturers do this - its the same on the misses's dad's bike (Kawasaki VN 900), really nice fit and finish - except for the speedo, which has a plastic orange needle.  Cheapens the whole look of the thing, esp from your seat when you're riding it...sorry for the mini rant, but surely they could just have put a plain black and white one on?  Would have looked miles nicer!

Stu
