a few days ago I made a trip to the Twin Cities, my return trip home took me only a few miles from the CMW warehouse so I decided to drop by and spend an hour and a few hundred dollars with the friendly folks there.
this was my lucky day as both Kevin and my friend Randy the mayor of Marne, Iowa were there. we had some interesting conversation and Kevin let it be known that in fact a twin is in the works and should arrive in two years or so. he also said that a new color C5 will be here soon and should be a hot seller.
i'll let a few members here guess the color before i spill the beans.
its always a pleasure doing business with Kevin and his crew!!!

"Hot seller" sounds like a hint that it's red, but my vote is for a Silver Bullet.

Some of the folks on the BHP site in India are talking about a "Sand Storm Matt Finish" color.

Sounds like shades of the North Africa Campaign.

I am afraid that I have to step in here about the twin. There may have been a misunderstanding. The twin will most likely happen. The time schedule is unclear. An all new bike with an all new engine would take 3-5 to bring into production.

It will have taken three year to bring the cafe bike to market, It is an all new bike except for the engine which will be tweaked. It is still a good year away.

The moral of the story is we think a twin will come, but you will have several birthdays before that happens. RE has not made any official announcements and will not until this thing is 100% approved and on the drawing board.

Thanks for the clarification. To me, the big single with all its features and limitations, is the reason to buy a Royal Enfield. There is nothing else like it in the market. To make a vertical or V-twin puts them in head-to-head competition with Triumph, Harley and BMW if they decide to modernize it. That would mean a huge expense to enter an already struggling market. Unless they offer a twin for the price of a current single, I doubt it would succeed.
