Recently when my G5 battery failed to start the bike after getting in a traffic jam for 15 minutes, when bike was practically at idle, the desire to test its alternator and state of my battery took an urgent turn.

The alternator output of Royal Enfield motorcycle has been speculated and guessed before - but I have never seen actual data or output in a running RE engine. It was an interesting project to measure the alternator voltage that varied from about 15 volts to 40 volts depending on the engine speed and also to look at the battery status. Details of results are shown in the link below -

Good vid, thanks again Singh.
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Great video.   I could read a book/manual all day and still not get it.

Your videos are very enlightening.

Thanks,

Thanks for sharing with rest of the gang. I wonder why my pushes around 18 at idle, may be first batch of C5's had better quality coils ;D Or could be due to the fact that once I had cleaned the whole coil assembly on the outside quite nicely ???

Could the rest if possible post their values at Idle for the alternator output to see how consistent the output is on the C5/G5/B5!!

Great job Singh.

I have a separate folder just for your vids.
The alternator seems to be doing a good enough job.
I'm guessing that heated hand grips will work on my B5
as long as I'm getting the same results off my alternator.

Yet again Singh, nicely done. Your excellent vids are becoming the definitive resource for RE owners who like to understand the esoteric workings of the  Royal Enfield UCE.  :D ;)
