Some people have inverted the bars. I haven't seen it but they seem happy. Just be careful of hitting the gas tank.

How about a nice set of Clubman/ace bars? You can pic up a decent set for between 25 and 40 bucks. They come in Chrome or black.. you don't have get a new Nacelle. Or even flat drag bars, with some pull back..........

The 'Bikemaster' version of clubman bars is sold everywhere (and under any names) but sweeps back too much for the RE, it hits the tank a lot. We tried a pair I had on a G5. It looked great but wasn't workable.
