Link is "blocked on copyright grounds" in UK   ::)

But yeah - Telstar by the Tornadoes - brilliant! First record I ever bought. Me and my pal used to try and play it on melodicas in the echo-chamber stairwell of the flats where we lived in London. What a racket! The neighbours hated us!   :D

Sounds like what you get when Dick Dale plays the Holiday Inn lounge with a Hammond and a beat box.   :-\

My father worked at Goonhilly Earth Satallite Station in Cornwall, UK and was involved with the launch of the Telstar satellite.  Brought back a lot of memories.

The Tornadoes were a studio group in England that did backups in recording sessions. They put Telstar together just jamming. It got released there, then in the US where it got to number 1. They had another release in '63 called Ridin' the Wind. Can't say I ever heard of that one.

;D ;D Thanks for that Ice! Have heard it before but never knew the back story. Not even an itch in daddies pants when this was made, but your right, it's timeless.  ;)
