I've lurking on this forum for awhile. I'm pretty sure I'm about to take the plunge and acquire one of these beautiful beasts known as a Royal enfield.

From what I can see, it's a proud marquee and the owners/followers are just as proud, fierce bordering on fanatical, but approachable.
Definitely looking forward to joining the fold....

Welcome Danny2011 !
I became a Royal Enfield owner last year. As a Harley and Vespa owner ( wow ! what a combo ! ) I have become addicted to my G5 Black & Chrome RE. The sound and the feel WILL addict you. Also, be warned that where ever you stop, you WILL draw a crowd ! Enjoy the hell out of it !

I traded in an '06 Scrambler on my G5. Best trade I ever made!

As a former Harley and Vespa owner.. Hey, wait a minute! Are you copying my info Mr Schraub? Next you'll be saying you live near San Francisco!

Nice avatar newbie, but watch out! There are some strange folks on this board. They might try to steal your identity.

Danny

Oh, that's right, that's you!

Dan

PS In 3500 miles on my C5 I have made some observations. The engine has brought up to near industry standard but the rest of the bike is lagging a bit behind. Problems have really been just minor annoyances. Nothing major. You will love it! If you have any questions, this is the place for them. Most dealers are too new to be familiar with them yet.

Hey olhogrider,
Redwood City , to be exact ! Let's get all of the Royal Enfield owners in the S. F. Bay area together for a ride. We could meet at Alices' in Woodside. There's some amazing roads around here ! By the way Danny, great intro to the forum.

Welcome to the forum! I've never had a harley but have ridden lots of scooters, but was happy to trade in my Mod Patch and become a Rocker the first time I laid eyes on my sweet Alison!  ;D

Thanks to all of your for the reception so far; I test drove a red one a few months ago, south of Orlando Florida, and I was smiling from ear to ear! It really did feel like I went back in time for that twenty minute demo ride...... :)

I'm sure I will get stopped when ever I take it out; I do get stopped at least once every other ride out, when I drive my Triumph; but the RE will definitely garner more attention then the Scrambler;I do plan on keeping the Scram, that bike is a blast to drive itself.

Hope to have an RE by the end of July. I'm leaning heavily towards the Military model, but the other colors are just as appealing,
