Glad you got it going, I removed those potential problem switches on mine long ago :D

I never understood that particular "safety feature" anyway.  If you're trying to start it in gear, you're not getting far anyway.

They saw it on bikes with real starters, or more likely their lawyers did. A Harley will start in gear and a GoldWing starter is so powerful it is used for reverse! It will even back one over a curb.
