It was nice to see everyone , and I think we really do need to get together in the fall as well. It would have been nice for my bike to see you all as well, but it would have been pretty tricky riding through all those traffic lights with no clutch!
The clutch operating arm inside the gearbox snapped off literally as I was on my way across town to the Nickerson. At first I thought I just broke a cable, so I pulled the bike up on a sidewalk, took out my spare cable, and then realized what really happened. I was a little over 2.5 miles from home and ended up pushing it almost 2 miles until I got past all of the traffic lights. Then I started it up and had my brother gave me a push, dropped it into second, and putted around side streets the rest of the way home (the uphill part).
I ended up going in my wife's car. I also brought along my spare sprag clutch parts (originally Chumma's) for Ice, who wants to have a spare on hand (I converted to kick start only and don't need 'em). Well wouldn't luck just have it, he said he has a spare clutch actuating arm in the package at home and will just pop it in the mail for me.
