Looking to remove tank decal and air intake ones as well. But it appears the tank is dull coated. I'm replacing them with stars and vet decals. Any suggestions on how.

Use a big sticker background that covers the oem one?! They're under clearcoat so its going to be a pita to remove, and messy.

It will be messy. Maybe wet 2000 grit sandpaper to gently cut through the clear coat on an edge and see if it will start to peel off? I wouldn't apply heat to the gas tank, but parking it in direct sunlight may help soften up the adhesive....hopefully it is not a permanent methacrylate type of chemical. .

I took the decal off the rear fender because it was off centre and looked natty.

When you get them off, you'll have a shinier (un-clearcoated) surface underneath and a ridge where they used to end.  You'll need to refinish the whole tank.

Yea, I'm thinking 220. Scrape off the stickers. Sand and feather. Need to get the oem paint and possibly the flat clearcoat. Any ideas where? Thanks

You may as well take off the tank - re do it all the way you want it and clear coat the entire thing or ir will always look like it was done in pieces - or go over the old decals and just re-coat the tank.
