Hi All:

This past Saturday ( aka, judgement day ) I figured I might as well be riding a bullet since I was sure to be left behind. So I gave in to the temptation, and convinced myself that a c5 will be a great alternative to salvation.

The nearest dealer (~160 miles away) had a black and a chrome c5. Before embarking on my trip, I was keen on the chrome,  but once I got there  the black looked more appealing! I don't know whether it was the lighting or something else, the black c5 just looked awesome.

Is there any one else who shares my impression that the chrome, albeit its delicious looks in pictures, takes second place to the black in real life?

Cheers,

Iyer

Hi Iyyer, welcome to the forum.

I know you will really enjoy your new black C5.   Personally I love em all!   Never have seen a RE Bullet that I didn't like.

On the other hand, I do understand these bikes are not for everyone.

Life is short enjoy the ride!

The chrome is faster since it is shinier and has less drag.  ;)

I don't know about the rest of you folks but I think OD Green is the best color out there.  Now if only they would replace the chrome bits with flat black it would be even better.

I pretty much like 'em all too but there is something to a C5 in black.  It just makes it look even more classic.

Oh red is fastest all right, I just didn't want to make the poor guy feel bad for gettin a black one :D  But if OD green had been an option when I got mine I'd be riding one.

You decide which floats your boat.  For me, it's the black C5 that is timeless.  The C5 doesn't need chrome to call attention to its stunning good looks.   :D

Ignore r80rt.  He continues to be delusional about red.   ;)

Get yourself a G5 DeLuxe - Black AND Chrome, and nice hand-painted gold lines too!
One of the best looking bikes on the planet - the very definition of motorbike   Style.
And don't forget (others, deluded people, will try to tell you different) lots of chrome on your bike means better performance, less maintenance, more happiness, women will desire you and men will envy you.
You've been told by one who knows.
Up to you now.......   ;)

Too true.  I've learned two things in the past few years of life:

1.  I should've got a puppy BEFORE getting engaged.  (chicks galore)

2.  The best way to get the attention of bearded guys in pickup trucks is to ride a Royal Enfield.

... Now I'm not sure about attracting bearded men..   Does Royal Enfield make a bike that looks like a puppy?
