Hi Guys,
Ive asked the dealer and the importer about changing the exhaust so i can get rid of that horrible brown heat mark on the muffler....

I also asked about changing the front sprocket on the bike to make the gearing taller...

Basically if i change the muffler to any that they dont supply, i will void the warranty. The only one i can get is the upswept one, which i dont really like the look of... id prefer the straight 'shorty' style....

Same story with the sprocket... although they dont supply any.

can;t u just order a brit made exhaust system and be done with it through cmw or importer...mine is burnt coming out at the header pipe but my muffler and where it joins is fine....sounds like u have the indian made exhaust system...supposely the brit made systems are chromed better and they come open for flow with no restrictions..

not sure how all that works here in Aus...

the importer only has the upswept which he supplies to the dealer.

pretty sure the one i have would be indian... who makes the brit ones?

look at our website and u will c the different exhaust systems that are sold through a a approved enfield  source...not sure what they selling at your locale but the exhaust system replaces the Indian made and is made in England where the bike origins are....i waited till my year warranty was up and put it on...it may indeed void the warranty so just wait and replace it after...no point in ruining that, it has come in handy for some of the fellows and the new bikes r 2 years vice the 1 year i had....it goes by quick....

I too am interested in finding if changing the muffler to an aftermarket model would effect the warranty.

Noting that the muffler (silencer) shown in this link to the NField Gear section of the forum says they are intended for close circuit use (racing) implies  the use of them might void the warranty?

You can use the Watsonian exhausts without affecting the warranty. Their Clubman model comes with the Goldstar pipe fitted. I have it on my G5 and can confirm a noticeable improvement in performance. Whether the noticeable increase in noise is an improvement - let the inner hooligan decide....... ;)

Seems that the Australian importer is a bit on the petty side...
No problems with warranty in Germany. Wonder what damage could be done by an silencer that is basically a tube? Anyway, my dealer even told me that it´s ok to mount a power commander  8) ...maybe I become weak.... ;D

My neighbors like me, not sure how they'd feel about my inner hooligan. :D

My stock exhaust developed a crack from vibes and CMW told me that they would substitute an aftermarket exhaust since the stock replacements where out of stock.

This leads me to believe installing one supplied by the importer won't affect the warranty in the U.S.  ;)
