After many years of drooling and wishing, this past weekend I got my 2006 Bullet.
Now what books and manuals do I need.

I look forward to chatting with, and learning from all you guys.

Thanks,

David

i have a 2006 iron in British racing green flavor...the sailboat sounds like fun and u in the right area for it....saw quite a few minis in England ,they were really tiny ..believe they had a 3 cylinder in there but could be mistaken...the new ones are a bit larger in size, engine displacement and cost.......nothing wrong with staying off the streets...you know whats best for ya and the enfield will keep you busy for awhile too....enjoy riding A1A from Palm Beach down to Boca Rotan...U got some nice backwater stretches westward with no traffic whatsoever...welcome to the club...
Oh Magoo you done it again

Thanks for the welcome Green Machine.  The 06 I got is BRG as well, black seat and saddlebags.  I'll take some proper pictures and post the up properly (instead of attaching) .  I drive A1A every day, and is is perfect for a morning ride to work.

Welcome David - a merrier bunch of online brothers in biking you will not find  :D

Enjoy your Bullet - how could you not! And now that you have done the silliest and wrongest thing you will ever do - getting rid of a Healey 3000 (in favour of a bloody clapped old Land Rover?! ) rejoice in the knowledge that your Enfield will at least ease to some extent the dull ache of longing and regret you must now live with.....  ;)

Welcome! In high school I drove a Healey 3000 and my girlfriend drove a Morris Minor. My earliest memories are of riding in my dad's Sprite. Enfields are great fun!

It should feel right at home in your motor stable.
No matter where you go, there, you are.

Welcome aboard!  I use the Snidal manual for much of my general maintenance and "what the hell is going on here" moments.  Served me pretty well so far - second only to the good advice of the fine folks here.

Will, you are right, My one regret in life (well other than I regret I wasn't born into a family with a rich uncle ;D) was the sale of the Healey...
But I bet I get alot more use out of the Enfield!

Boggy, I'll have a look at the Snidal Manual.

When I look in the above sections, I take it I don't have a "classic" bike but a UCE?

I could be wrong but if you have an '06 it's probably an AVL.  Do you have little silver or black tool kits on the back that look like they could store a few hot dogs?  You will know if you do, because they well, look like they could store a few hot dogs.

Picture above is the 5 speed, Iron Barrel, not AVL or UCE.
You got one of the old fashioned, true "classics" Some would say the best engine, but needs just a little more care and TLC than the other, newer RE's.
Congratulations on the new bike. Any specific questions, post in the "Bullet Classic Models" forum, and all your questions will be answered by knowledgeable forum members (that means I won't do much answering). :D

BTW, I sailed for about 15 years and just sold my (not a SOF) CLC Cape Charles kayak with a sail rig. Those SOF kayaks are nice.
