Hi,

Is this bag too big for my B5? It's 15"X15"X5". I want the passenger to be able to sit comfortably without the legs running afoul of the bags.

http://www.joesarmynavyonline.com/servlet/Detail?no=6282

Also, how do I go about attaching this thing? I will like to put it on and off easily.

Sorry, I'm a complete newb. Thanks.

Raj.

That looks like a great bag for a G-5 with the side kit:

Hi Raj V,

 Welcome aboard.

Those bags are gaining popularity here.
These threads should be of some help.

My search skills are weak, there are probably more threads.
No matter where you go, there, you are.

@mbevo1, just to be sure, is that 15"X15"? If so, it looks the right size.

PS. The military edition seems to have an equipment rail that you can just hang stuff off. That rocks.

Looks great, Mbevo1 - sitting pretty close to that very hot muffler, though.  Have you put many miles on it like that?  Any issues?

Andy - Looks worse than it is... about four inches from the bag to the muffler... no problems noted from the heat in a couple humdred miles.  I actually put in some corrugated plastic stiffeners (made out of a "For Sale" sign) to help it keep its shape...

Raj -

Mine are 12X12X6... almost exactly the same size as my fancy leather RE bags on my '07 Classic.  15X15 just might have a problem with the muffler... Got them here...

I got the black ones. They look good but before I got around to installing them I got a great deal on a set of the leather ones with the gold lettering. The C5 has the fender struts and the G5 has the racks you can buy.

Thanks @mbevo1 for clarifying the size.

Actually, B5 also has the rail thingy around the rear mudguard. That will help me install the bag.

For a 12"x12" bag, I will go for the WW II GI standard issue. Looks better for a black bike, I think.

15" on the left and 12" on the right might look kind of cool, actually.

I put a similar set on today.  Snugged down tight around the fender rails, they seem to work quite well.  Made in India, too!   8)

I got them at a local camping supply/military surplus store.  They're "World Famous" brand, popular in Canada.
