So is that the trick, bending the prongs so the assembly will fit back in? I recently received the tri-bar and found that there is almost no room for the bulb to fit back in. I put the stock light back on for now.

My bulb 'prongs' basically face at about 80* to their normal position and they clear the speedo cable fine like that!
