Should Fuel flow really be 250 ml (8 oz) per 30 seconds?   Mine is half that, but I've cleaned everything out and it hasn't gotten any better.

Thanks,  Bill

I'm going to say that max fuel flow (and therefore worst average fuel economy) I've seen on the forum for any version of the 500 engine is around 50mpg.  I'd also say that, for simplicity, you could get that type of fuel economy at 50mph, so you're going to be consuming one gallon of gas per hour in a worst-case scenario.

One gallon of gas is 128 ounces.  To figure out how much that is per minute you divide by 60, so you get 2.13 ounces per minute, or 1.65 ounces of consumption per 30 seconds.

4 ounces per 30 seconds, what you claim to be getting in flow, should be fine.

Pete Snidal says if you can fill a small tuna can in about 30 seconds, you're fine.
That's about 5 ounces.
I suspect that somewhat less is probably okay too. Especially for a stock bike.

Thanks Rosetap and Ace!  That's exactly what I thought.
