Changed mine today. Not a big deal. TDC. Pushrods slackened off. Tank off. Rockers box covers off (hold down bolts very loose to start with but gaskets really wanted to hang on!!!). Remove etc etc

Now, the originals work OK, but are roughly finished (which doesn't effect operation obviously), but the arms are very heavy as are the hold down blocks!
The new arms are much lighter (see plan pic) as are the blocks.

I read somewhere that the oilways should be drilled out from the existing 2.5mm to 3mm. Well mine came as std as 2mm diagonally drilled hole with 'O' ring seal at the bottom so I compromised and went to 2.5mm. I can always open 'em up to 3mm later if required but putting material back???  ::)
I have to say though that the original rockers do have a vertical 3mm hole but with no 'O' ring etc

Where does one get Samrat rocker assemblies?  Are they the same as the ones offered on the CMW site?

Hmmmmm.  That looks very good t120r.  Nice job, how well do they work?  Are they as good as the Samrat ones?

They worked real well. But with a lot of things Enfield there have been some major quality improvements and the rocker blocks have been one of them. The earlier ones had no locating pins and had sloppier tolerances, plus the 99s had a tendency to break valve springs so I have some Manley valve springs that are a bit heaver than the stock springs. So they only lasted me about 6K miles.  I replaced them with some Samrat ones and got about 10K on them and put a set of the SupaDupa ones that CMW sells that have the stock iron blocks machined to use the Samrat rocker arms. I could have got another 10 k out of the Samrat ones though. At one time I went over 4k miles without a pushrod adjustment on the Samrats. I have over 2k on the last adjustment on the new SupaDupa ones. Time will tell.
I'd take a Samrat set over a stock set any day.

Samrat rockers are made by "Samrat" in India. I paid them a visit about a year ago. They  They make nice rockers but........... The stock alloy rocker blocks are not held as closely to a tolerance as one would like. We have had a lot of trouble over the years with customers over-tightening them and seizing them. Because they are alloy it takes almost nothing to overtighten them. Because of this we quit selling stock Samrat units and send all of ours out for re-machining. The alloy rocker blocks will also wear out quicker than the steel ones. The newer factory steel rocker blocks are much better than earlier ones and are held to a much tighter tolerance. the pictures below are from the Samrat factory

Thanks for those pics etc Kevin.
Wonder if the 'new' rocker arms would be the same diameter as my original (2002 built engine) ones so could mix 'n' match blocks and arms? I can see a tank and rocker boxes coming off here again ha ha  ;D

If anyone  making the switch to aluminum would like to sell the oem's,  I'm buying.  The bearing surface on my ex. side is getting pretty loose.

I can't take the credit for that, Terry Smith the old Canadian importer did it for me.
I got a Manley SS Racing valve out of a Ford 428 motor and shortened the stem and had a taper for the keeper ground into it and had him install it for me. Bought a set of Manley springs for it too.
He ported the head, adjusted the rocker geometry and that was a part of that.
Kind of a Stage2 head before Stage 2 heads.
Most of that is gone now. I have the Suppa Duppa rockers that CMW sells and Kibblewhite valves and guides.  The only thing I have left from the first version are the springs.
