I have been reading mentions of Sea Foam for removing carbon from engines on this forum.  Today I found a local source.  Walmart.  Now if I can just get a former coworker to run a sample of it and a sample of Marvel Mystery Oil through the GC-Mass spec. to figure out what might be involved in the process.   GA-DK

Pretty sure you need to run seafoam directly into the fuel line in order for it to have any effect on carbon buildup. I would google around to make sure the method is effective.

It is.

Scared the daylights out of me first time I used it.

Dumped a bunch in the fuel tank ,fired up the Bullet. put-put-put-put-put-put-put-put-put-put-HUGE-CLOUD-of-BLACK-out the silencer  :o and then the output subsided and returned to normal.

Every so often a dollop or glug ( technical terms  ;) ) goes in the tank as a maintenance dose.
No matter where you go, there, you are.

Would that be a US, Imperial or Metric dollop or glug?  :)

I believe there are 4 glugs or 8 dollops to a can.

Actually made that mistake with my '75 Goldwing when I picked it up.  Carbs were so gunked up I stopped and filled the tank with Sunoco 102 race fuel and dumped right at that amount in (after I started it of course).  Closed up the fuel tank and started on the 80 mile ride to home.  My ex-wife said at one point all she could see was a cloud coming out the back and obstructing everything.  Ran like crap for about 5 miles and thought I had wrecked the engine..started to knock, hiccup and a variety of other unfriendly noises.  Was just getting ready to shut it down and made a serious pop (shotgun blast type) and all was well.

Maybe for our use 1/4 of a glug is all that is needed.

The composition of these products is in the other thread 'MSDS of Commonly' in Tech tips (link below).

Sea Foam and Marvel Mystery Oil have different compositions.  They are not made of single chemical entities but are made of mixtures of compounds from different fractions of crude oil distillation.  GC-MS will show hundreds of peaks of organic aromatic, naphtenic and aliphatic compounds.
